Plans for new residential development in Bromborough underway

"Virtual" Public consultation for the redevelopment of the former ministry of defence site, Old Hall Rd Bromborough

Plans for the redevelopment of the Former Ministry of Defence (MOD) Site, in Old Hall Road Bromborough, for up to 250 new homes is underway.

Wirral Growth Company are a 50:50 joint venture partnership between Wirral Council and national urban regeneration specialists, Muse Developments.

To date, the emerging draft plan has been informed by pre-application discussions with Planning Officers at Wirral Council and it is proposed that the emerging draft plan be progressed and submitted to the Council later this year as part of an outline planning application.

A public consultation exercise, where the views of local people are sought and will be undertaken but due to constraints associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the public consultation will only take place virtually.

This is a cause for concern as it will minimise the amount of contact with residents.

The proposed site is designated as commercial land and will need to be re-designated to residential, which will set a precedent for housing development throughout that area from the New Chester Road to the waterfront.

It is proposed that this consultation event will take place from Monday 14th June 2021 for a one month period (i.e. until 15th July 2021). If for any reason you do not have access to the digital online consultation, please contact 07849 539589 to request a hard copy information pack.

All consultation material is available for review and comment on the Wirral Growth Company website: https://wirralgrowthcompany.co.uk/bromborough/
